Residential Wallpaper

Residential Wallpaper Installation

Hand-installed wallpaper for homes throughout Southern California — feature walls, full rooms, nurseries, powder baths, and design-forward dining rooms.

Residential Service

Wallpaper installation that respects your home

A residential wallpaper installation is more than putting paper on a wall. It is shifting furniture without scratching floors, smoothing imperfect drywall so seams are invisible, choosing a primer that suits your home’s humidity, and aligning every motif so the eye never catches a misstep. We bring this care to every Southern California home we work in — from Long Beach craftsman bungalows to Irvine new-builds.

We install everything from delicate hand-printed papers to robust pre-pasted vinyls, and we’re happy to talk through which material fits your room, your traffic, and your maintenance comfort level before you ever order rolls.

Pricing Factors

What affects the cost of residential wallpaper installation

  • Total square footage and ceiling height
  • Number of windows, doors, and outlets
  • Pattern repeat and pattern-match complexity
  • Wall condition and amount of prep required
  • Whether old wallpaper needs to be removed
  • Material type (grasscloth and silk install slower than vinyl)
  • Accessibility — stairwells, vaulted ceilings
  • Furniture moving and floor protection scope

We don’t publish flat per-roll pricing because every wall is different. Each quote includes a transparent line-item breakdown of prep, install, and materials so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Learn About Our Process

Residential Specialty

Feature walls, pattern matching & aftercare

Feature walls are deceptively tricky. Centering a bold motif behind a bed, aligning the apex of a pattern with a sofa, and choosing whether to “drop match” or “straight match” all shape the final look. We dry-lay every feature wall before paste touches it, and we plan motif placement around your furniture — not around what’s convenient for the installer.

After installation, we leave a one-page aftercare card: how to dust the wallpaper, how to spot-clean smudges, how to handle scuffs, and what to do if a corner ever lifts. Small things, but the difference between a wall that looks new in five years and one that doesn’t.

FAQ

Common questions about residential wallpaper installation

Can you install wallpaper my designer is shipping me?
Absolutely — most of our work comes through interior designers. We’ll receive, inspect, and store the rolls until install day.
Do I need to remove outlet covers?
No — we handle outlet covers, switch plates, and floor vents. We label everything and reinstall on completion.
Will the wallpaper damage my drywall when removed years later?
When the wall is properly primed beforehand, future removal is much cleaner. We always recommend a wallcovering primer.
Can you wallpaper a popcorn or textured ceiling wall?
Texture must be skim-coated smooth before installation. We provide skim-coating as part of prep when needed.
Do you install wallpaper in nurseries with non-toxic options?
Yes. We can recommend low-VOC pastes and wallpapers labeled child-safe.
Will the seams be visible?
When properly installed, seams should be virtually invisible. Material choice (e.g., grasscloth has visible seams by nature) and lighting matter.
How long should I wait before hanging art on a newly papered wall?
We recommend waiting 7–10 days for adhesives to fully cure.
Can you wallpaper around built-ins and cabinetry?
Yes. We hand-cut around built-ins and trim with care; complex cabinetry adds time to the quote.
